Philippians 4: 6-7 has always meant a lot to me and gotten me through some difficult times in my life such as the summers of 2018 and 2019 when I had several lumpectomies because of having pre-cancerous masses in both breasts. My surgeon was really encouraging me to have a double mastectomy which, after much prayer and consideration and getting a second opinion, I decided against.

Instead I started going to an oncologist who put me on an estrogen blocker and I’ll need to take that for five years. I haven’t had any bad side effects from the medication since, which I am most thankful for.

Philippians 4: 6-7 has been a very real encouragement for me through all of this. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Since 2019 I haven’t had any more lumps or breast surgeries and I am so thankful to God for His love and mercy in my life. I know that even if I should have to have more surgery in the future that God will be with me and will let me feel His love and strength and peace every step of the way. For that I am eternally grateful.
